Horse Riding in Spring

Horse riding is an activity that is enjoyed by a lot of people around the world. Some people like to go horse riding because they love spending time outdoors, some do it for the exercise, while others use it as an opportunity to bond with friends.

One of the beauties of horse riding is the fact that it is an activity you can do anytime of the year (as long as the weather permits). However, going horse riding during the spring, in our opinion, provides the most pleasant experience.

These are some of the reasons why spring is the best time to go horse riding.

Weather

Spring is the best time to go horse riding because the weather is great and you don’t have to deal with the intense heat or cold of the other seasons.

The weather permits you to wear more comfortable clothing, and it is also great for your horse. During the spring, the grass in the pasture are healthy enough for your horse to graze, and the water in the nearby lakes or creeks are warm enough for your horse to drink from.

Due to the change in weather, there are fewer bugs outside, which is also one of the advantages of going horse riding in the spring.

The View

Another reason why spring is the best time to go horse riding is the fact that it provides you with a great view of many things.

If you are a nature enthusiast, you get to see flowers and other plant life come into bloom when you go riding in the spring. Since there is hardly any fog and you get more daylight hours, you can see things from a great distance.

The view can be quite breathtaking especially when you are at an elevated surface, and is something that should be experienced at least once in a lifetime.

The Terrain

An advantage to horse riding during the spring is the ability to go wherever you want to go with your horse without any major worries. You can go up mountain trails without worrying about the surface being too slippery or dangerous for your horse to travel on, you can also ride your horse at a faster speed because of the solid footing the ground provides in the spring.

Activities

When spring arrives, the change in weather provides people with an opportunity to engage in a lot of outdoor activities. With that in mind, you can turn your horse riding adventure into an opportunity to enjoy some of your other outdoor passions.

When my friends and I go horse riding in the spring, we tend to take our cameras with us so we can take pictures and record things that interest us while we are out riding. We record videos of interesting things like us racing our horses, the wildlife we see while riding or horses, and sometimes, we record sunsets.

Other activities you can enjoy while horse riding during the spring include fishing, camping, or a romantic picnic if you are riding with your significant other.

Horse riding in the spring is not only a great activity to enjoy by yourself or with friends, it is also a great way to get some exercise without having to go to the gym because you can burn over 400 calories in an hour, while also increasing your muscle strength without adding mass.

These are just a few of the reasons we believe spring is the best time to go horse riding. If you’re like us and have an interest in horse riding, you should check out our videos to find more reasons to go horse riding in the spring, and get a few ideas on activities you can enjoy.
